Polymeric sand goes in the joints between pavers and hardens when activated with water, locking pavers in place and blocking weeds and ants. If your existing joint sand is washing out or you've got weeds coming up, re-sanding with polymeric sand is usually part of the job before we seal.

Late spring through early fall is ideal. We need dry pavers and mild temps for the sealer and polymeric sand to cure correctly, so we avoid rainy stretches and the cold. We watch the local forecast and schedule accordingly.

Always. We clean and let the surface dry, then re-sand the joints as needed before applying sealer. Sealing over dirt, moss, or loose sand traps the problem — proper prep is what makes the job last.

Sealing on its own is a coat on top. A restoration is the whole job: strip the surface and the joints, re-sand with polymeric sand so the joints lock up again, then seal. Sealing over failed joints looks fine for a season and then the weeds come back through.
