Paver Sealing & Polymeric Sand in Alpine, NJ

Re-sand and seal your pavers to lock out weeds, stains and wash-out for years.

Paver Sealing & Polymeric Sand in Alpine, NJ

Alpine sits up on the Palisades along the Hudson, and if you've got a paver driveway or walkway here, you already know the ground doesn't sit still. Between the sloped, wooded lots off Closter Dock Road and the long approach drives common on the estate-style properties near the Palisades Interstate Parkway, pavers take a beating from shifting soil, tree shade, and the freeze-thaw cycles that North Jersey winters throw at us.

That's where sealing and polymeric sand actually earn their keep. We re-sand the joints so weeds and ants stop moving in, lock everything down, then apply a sealer suited to the look you want—matte to keep it natural, or a wet-look if you're after that richer color. On shaded, damp lots we're honest about it: the surface has to be clean and fully dry first, or the sealer won't bond. No shortcuts.

We're Gallo Bros, a family-run exterior cleaning outfit working across Bergen County. We don't subcontract your job out or pad the quote with work you don't need. If your pavers just need a clean and re-sand instead of a full seal, we'll tell you straight.

Absolutely outstanding job by the Galo Brothers today power washing our house! Honestly the best power washing job we have ever had done. The house looks brand new again, every detail was handled with care, and the difference is unbelievable. They were professional, thorough, hardworking, and took real pride in their work. It’s rare these days to find a company that exceeds expectations, but they absolutely did. Highly, highly recommend the Galo Brothers to anyone looking for top notch service and incredible results!

Bruce Bosland

Gallo Bros powerwashing team headed up by Joe, did a great job on our exposed, lakefront home. They went above and beyond to remove dirt and mildew from our house siding, soffits and multiple bluestone patios and walkways, as well as our dock and wood furniture. They also took great care to avoid or work around multiple bird nests which had recently hatched babies pre fledge. I will definitely call them in the future!

Cathy Marshall

We hired Gallo Bros Power Washing to power wash, re-sand and seal our 20 year old paver patio and front walk. They also performed a few repairs and reset a few areas that needed attention. We had never had this done professionally before. From the beginning estimating phase to the final coat of sealer, we were very happy with the services provided, the price and the final result, which they also warrantee for 1 year. I highly recommend Gallo Bros. Power Washing and will use them for other services in the future.

Paver Sealing & Polymeric Sand in Alpine — FAQ

How often should pavers be sealed in Alpine?

Most Alpine driveways and patios do well with resealing every 2–4 years. Heavily shaded, tree-covered lots common up here tend to hold moisture and grow more moss, so those sometimes need attention a bit sooner.

What is polymeric sand and do I need it?

It's a joint sand mixed with binders that hardens when wetted, locking pavers together and blocking weeds and ants. If your joints are washing out or you've got growth between the stones, yes—it's worth doing before sealing.

When is the best time of year to seal pavers?

Late spring through early fall, on a stretch of dry weather. Sealer needs a clean, fully dry surface and mild temps to cure, so we avoid humid stretches and don't seal right before a NJ cold snap or rain.

Can you seal pavers on a sloped driveway?

Yes. A lot of Alpine's properties have graded, sloping approach drives. We adjust application so the sealer doesn't pool or run, and re-sand joints properly so runoff doesn't wash them out.

Do you clean the pavers before sealing?

Always. We soft wash or pressure clean the surface, treat any moss or organic staining, let it dry, then re-sand and seal. Sealing over dirt or moisture traps it and causes hazing or peeling.

How much does paver sealing cost in NJ?

Most patios and driveways run about $1.50–$3.50 per square foot depending on condition and sealer. We clean, re-sand and seal — and quote it all up front, free.

What is polymeric sand and why does it matter?

Polymeric sand goes in the joints between pavers and hardens when wet. It locks the pavers in place and blocks weeds, ants and wash-out far better than regular sand.

How long does paver sealing last?

Usually 3–5 years before a re-seal, depending on traffic and sun. Sealing also brings back the color and makes the surface much easier to keep clean.

Do you clean the pavers first?

Always. We deep-clean, remove old failing sand, re-sand the joints with polymeric sand, then seal. Sealing dirty pavers just locks the dirt in — we never skip the prep.
