Paver Sealing & Polymeric Sand in Mountain Lakes, NJ
Re-sand and seal your pavers to lock out weeds, stains and wash-out for years.
Paver Sealing & Polymeric Sand in Mountain Lakes, NJ
Mountain Lakes is a tricky place to own pavers. The borough's older Hapgood-era homes and the newer builds up along the wooded hillsides both sit on ground that drains slow, so patios and walkways stay damp longer than they do a town over. That shade from all the mature oaks and the moisture off the actual lakes means green algae film and dark spotting show up fast on unsealed pavers.
We're a family-owned exterior cleaning outfit that works all over North Jersey, and paver work here follows a pattern. We clean the surface first, re-set any joints with polymeric sand, then seal. Skipping the cleaning and sand step is why a lot of DIY seal jobs cloud up or trap the algae underneath. Done right, the sand locks the joints against weeds and ants, and the sealer helps the surface shed our freeze-thaw winters instead of pitting from road salt and shovels.
Most driveways off Boulevard and the side streets near the lakes need a good soft wash before anything else. We'll tell you honestly whether your pavers are ready to seal or need to fully dry out first — no upselling a wet patio.

“Holiday Outdoor Lighting Gallo Brothers Experience I always wanted outdoor lighting - but, never felt comfortable with other roof lighting companies - people, creativity/passion, equipment safety, timing - ability to handle challenging roof layout …. and concerns regarding ability to deliver The Gallo Brothers checked all of the boxes: Incredibly professional Went above and beyond - the roof was a challenge - other companies wanted to do lights along gutter line only because the roof had too many steep peaks and Gallo Brothers created a custom lighting solution across the entire roof. They had complete confidence that they could deliver and they killed it.. The Gallo Brothers are bright, young and hungry …. Experience for me was totally stress free The Gallo Brothers offered Creative design options/solutions They have the appropriate equipment to perform work in a safe efficient manner The Gallo Brothers Team was not only friendly and kind but, highly skilled. They were focused and enjoyed doing their job. They were very careful with equipment and determining safest way to get around complex roof and lawn and landscape Efficiency and punctuality are hallmarks of Gallo Brothers service I just chose the bulb color ... and had them walk me through all of the options. The pricing was fair and reasonable compared to their competitors. The other competitors were more expensive and offering was a lower level product (example - boring gutter line lights vs entire roof lighting experience) The Gallo Brothers were very transparent throughout entire process They over delivered from the picture that they designed and I approved in the beginning The work and lighting product experience speaks for itself - family, neighbors and friends love it I was blown away when the lights came on the night that I was home with family. It was such an incredible experience. I didn’t want to leave home for family event that night. It brightened up the entire block and created many smiles My kids asked me why I didn’t do the home lighting many years ago …. I would strongly recommend the Gallo Brothers to anyone who wants to light up their home and neighborhood and who want a hungry team of skilled professionals - who love what they do - and will design and deliver a bright experience with no stress. *I would also recommend locking them in soon before their capacity is dedicated to my neighbors and friends who were very impressed with them”

Paver Sealing & Polymeric Sand in Mountain Lakes — FAQ
How often should pavers be resealed in Mountain Lakes?
Generally every 2-4 years, but shaded, damp lots near the lakes may lean toward the shorter end because moisture and algae work harder on the surface. We'll check the wear and tell you if it can wait.
Do you re-sand the joints before sealing?
Yes. We install polymeric sand in the joints as part of the process. It hardens to resist weeds, ants, and washout, and it's the step most DIY jobs skip — which is why they fail early.
Can you seal pavers in fall before winter?
Fall is fine as long as the pavers are fully dry and we have a stretch of mild, rain-free days. We won't seal over damp pavers because North Jersey humidity can leave a cloudy haze. Timing matters more than season.
Will sealing help against road salt and freeze-thaw damage?
A quality sealer helps the surface shed water and resist salt and de-icer that gets tracked onto driveways over the winter. It won't make pavers indestructible, but it reduces pitting and staining.
Do you clean the pavers first?
Always. We soft wash off the algae, dirt, and any organic film first. Sealing over that just traps it under a shiny coat, and it'll look worse in a year.
How much does paver sealing cost in NJ?
Most patios and driveways run about $1.50–$3.50 per square foot depending on condition and sealer. We clean, re-sand and seal — and quote it all up front, free.
What is polymeric sand and why does it matter?
Polymeric sand goes in the joints between pavers and hardens when wet. It locks the pavers in place and blocks weeds, ants and wash-out far better than regular sand.
How long does paver sealing last?
Usually 3–5 years before a re-seal, depending on traffic and sun. Sealing also brings back the color and makes the surface much easier to keep clean.
Do you clean the pavers first?
Always. We deep-clean, remove old failing sand, re-sand the joints with polymeric sand, then seal. Sealing dirty pavers just locks the dirt in — we never skip the prep.
