Gallo Bros Power Washing

Paver Sealing & Polymeric Sand in Riverdale, NJ

Re-sand and seal your pavers to lock out weeds, stains and wash-out for years.

Paver Sealing & Polymeric Sand in Riverdale, NJ

If you've got a paver patio or driveway in Riverdale, you already know what our freeze-thaw winters do to it. Water gets into the joints, sand washes out with every heavy rain rolling down toward the Pequannock River, and by spring you're staring at weeds pushing up between the stones and pavers that have started to shift. That's exactly the problem we fix.

Gallo Bros is family-owned and works throughout Morris County, so paver sealing here isn't a side job for us. A lot of Riverdale homes sit on sloped, wooded lots off Hamburg Turnpike and up around the Newark-Pompton Turnpike area, which means drainage and runoff are real factors on how we approach a job. Before we seal, we clean the surface properly, re-sand the joints with polymeric sand so they harden and stay put, then apply the sealer. That combination is what keeps ants, weeds, and washout from coming back.

We don't upsell you on stuff you don't need, and we won't quote you sight-unseen. We come look at your actual pavers, tell you honestly whether they even need sealing yet, and give you a straight price. If your patio's fine, we'll say so.

Gallo Bros did an amazing job power-washing my home and roof. They assured me that if I had any concerns they would avail themselves to resolve them. After the cleaning a few leaves blocked the gutter after a heavy rain. They responded quickly and courteously, removing the blockage touched up ,y skylights as well. Before leaving they made sure I was satisfied. Oscar and his team came a few weeks later and sanded and sealed my paver walkway. They were polite and professional, explaining what they were doing, how long it would take, and instructions to ensure the best possible result. What I loved most was the professionalism in their communication. There were several days that we were rescheduled due to heavy rains and storms. The first thing they assured us of was their intent to make sure the job was done correctly. They would not come out to do the work, only to have it washed away. They stayed in contact every step of the way and I felt more than comfortable that the job would get completed the right way. If they couldn’t reach h me by phone they always left a voicemail or sent a text. I just happened to call them first in my search for roof cleaning, but I will never have to look further for these services again. I was really so impressed. Thank you Gallo Bros!

Awesome experience. I called and left a message over a weekend, they called me back quickly and schedule appointment. Lucas showed up on time dress in press shirt and paints with a iPad taking notes and pictures. Provided a very reasonable quote and scheduled appointment. The truck 3 team showed up earlier than scheduled and could not have been any nicer. The had a small problem with gear and let me know. Ther office also called and apologized to inform me of the problem. Truck 3 team came back and finished the job. The job they did was excellent. You can see on before pictures I had staining around window where shutters were installed. The after picture you can hardly tell. Super professional, kind and fair price. Wish all vendors were as professional and trustworthy as worthy as Gallo Bros is.

Paver Sealing & Polymeric Sand in Riverdale — FAQ

How often should pavers be sealed in Riverdale's climate?

Because of North Jersey's freeze-thaw cycles and wet winters, most paver surfaces here benefit from re-sealing every 3 to 5 years. Driveways that take vehicle traffic and salt tend to need it more often than a covered patio.

What is polymeric sand and do I need it?

Polymeric sand goes in the joints between pavers and hardens when activated with water. It locks the pavers together, resists washout during heavy rain, and blocks weeds and ants far better than regular joint sand. We almost always re-sand before sealing.

Can you seal pavers on a sloped or wooded lot?

Yes. A lot of Riverdale properties sit on grades and near tree cover, which affects runoff, moisture, and debris. We account for drainage and make sure the surface is fully clean and dry before sealing so it cures right.

When is the best time of year to seal pavers?

Late spring through early fall is ideal, when we've got dry, moderate days. Sealer needs dry pavers and time to cure without rain, so we watch the forecast and won't rush a job in bad weather.

Do you clean the pavers before sealing?

Always. We clean the surface, let it dry, and re-sand the joints first. Sealing over dirt, weeds, or old failing sand just traps the problem underneath, so proper prep is non-negotiable for us.

How much does paver sealing cost in NJ?

Most patios and driveways run about $1.50–$3.50 per square foot depending on condition and sealer. We clean, re-sand and seal — and quote it all up front, free.

What is polymeric sand and why does it matter?

Polymeric sand goes in the joints between pavers and hardens when wet. It locks the pavers in place and blocks weeds, ants and wash-out far better than regular sand.

How long does paver sealing last?

Usually 3–5 years before a re-seal, depending on traffic and sun. Sealing also brings back the color and makes the surface much easier to keep clean.

Do you clean the pavers first?

Always. We deep-clean, remove old failing sand, re-sand the joints with polymeric sand, then seal. Sealing dirty pavers just locks the dirt in — we never skip the prep.
